A moonlit grove, worked after the painting named in the title. Night scenes are built the opposite way round from daylight ones: the ground and the trees are set in near-blacks and deep blues, and the small amount of pale tile has to carry all the light. Get that balance wrong and the panel goes muddy, which is why there is so little mid-tone in it.
